The Great Houses
of Dune

This project began as a personal homage to the world of Frank Herbert’s Dune. I've long been inspired by the book and by Lynch’s adaptation, and set out to create a series of illustrations and concept art exploring my own vision for each of the great Houses in the Landsraad.

Currently in development with the support of my friends at Ouros Animation.

Music and sound design by Rasmus Madsen Much

“ Federico invited me to compose an original piece that would reflect the brutal elegance and oppressive force of House Harkonnen. Drawing from a sonic palette of 70s analog synths, doom-laden guitar riffs, and ritualistic vocal elements, we set out to build a soundscape that felt both ancient and menacing.

In the studio, we explored a range of textures—layering distorted bass, guitars, and synthetic drones to channel the clan’s industrial brutality. The result was a driving, guttural riff that became the backbone of the track. To complement this, Federico contributed haunting chant-like vocals that added a raw, ceremonial depth.

Technically, we relied heavily on amp simulations and analog emulations to sculpt a dense, cinematic tone. The process was a dialogue between sound design and storytelling—aiming to translate the psychological weight of the Harkonnens into music.”
